John A. Kirkpatrick, 76, of 223 Thirty-first Street Drive SE, died at 1 a.m. Monday following a lingering illness. He was born at Pilotsburg, Iowa, May 8, 1861, and resided in Cedar Rapids for nearly 30 years. He was a carpenter. In addition to his wife Millie, he is survived by seven children: H. C. of Blair, Wisconsin; G. L. of Independence, Wisconsin; Mrs. Mayme Sampson, Denver, Colorado; Irvin, Don, and Aubrey, all of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Myra Haneline, Evanston, Illinois; two brothers, David of Wellman; G. W. of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Mrs. James Marsh, Washington, Iowa. He was a member of M. W. A. Lodge 7198 at Kalona. Funeral services will be held in the Beatty Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
